Abstract:
Performance of onboard radio electronic complexes is to a large extent governed by performance of its onboard communications complexes (OCC). Performance evaluation of OCC is defined as probability of accurate transmission of a message from source to recipient and its acknowledgment, meaning that performance is determined by probability of OCC being in corresponding operable states and probability of OCC to complete tasks in those states. Probability of OCC completing task is defined as probability of accurate transmission of information from source to recipient, which is determined by speech intelligibility for voice links and probability of single bit error for digital links. Speech intelligibility for voice links and probability of single bit error for digital links worsens due to jamming during electronic warfare. This article proposes a technique for performance evaluation of OCC during electronic warfare. OCC is depicted as sophisticated engineering system functioning during electronic warfare. Depending on elements failures, OCC transgress to a corresponding state, specified by certain performance evaluations. Calculations formulae for performance evaluation of OCC operable states are quoted, including: probability of carrier energy availability for radio intercept, which takes into account OCC output performance; probability of time correlation of interference with OCC links, which takes into account OCC links - reaction time to interference and tuning to another band, jamming system reaction time to OCC links - countermeasures; probability of ingression of interference spectrum in OCC bandwidth, which takes into account frequency stability of OCC and jamming system, as well as Doppler effect. The proposed technique may be used for performance evaluation of airborne communications complexes during electronic warfare.
