Abstract:
The paper conceders the recently very actual problem- the creation of real-time radio-frequency interference monitoring tools for resources on-line control of cellular radio systems and their optimal adaptation to external conditions. The standard requirements to the perspective cel-lular radio interfaces demand the necessity for developments of special functional tools, including a devices for narrow-band interferences ob-servation and measurement to support a following calculations of intra channel BER values (Bit Error Rate) and, also, to perform a related management control. Experts prognosis predicts that on-line interference monitoring followed with appropriate dynamic reassignment between radio channels can give a significant increase of the mobile system capabilities. In this concern the paper discusses the main requirements to acousto-optic spec-trum analyzers (AOSA) and the proper achievements in acousto-optics, which can assist the choice of the most perspective type of this kind of devices for the mobile radio communication systems. Estimation of necessary AOSA characteristic like the threshold sensitivity, the frequency resolution and the time integration window needed for the AOSA implementation in systems like GSM-900 are presented. It is shown, that recently developed planar-type AOSA are the most perspective alternatives for the on-line frequency resource management for mobile communication systems. Those AOSA, similarly to another types of AOSA, realize the algorithm of Fast Fourier spectrum Transform, which provides the searchless spectrum analysis with an enhanced sensitivity and spectrum resolution for RF pulse radiation. On the basis of experimental As a results of the experimental study of the developed prototype of AOSA with geometry collinear AO interaction, there was es-tablished its very important advantages in compare with other alternatives for application to mobile radio communication systems like the ex-tremely high spectral resolution, the enhanced dynamic range, the ability to provide very high parameters stability and the facilities to be de-signed in one or multi-channel channel chip. Finally, it was demonstrated the principal ability and advantages of utilization of collinear AO spectrum analyzer (on Ti-diffused planar wave-guides in YX-LiNbO3 crystal) in radio interfaces of modern mobile cellular systems, which provides new functional capacities, such as dynamic channel re-allocation, required in mobile communication systems of 3rd and future generations.
