When designing artificial structures in the northern regions, it is necessary to know the location of ice formation, its regime and maximum dimensions that are observed during the lifetime of the object. To predict the size of ice formations, it is necessary to take into account the patterns of their change over a long period of time. Currently, a large number of long-term observations are being conducted in various geophysical conditions to establish the dependence of ice processes dynamics on various factors. However, such observations were obtained in an incomplete manner and only for individual ice formations.
Goal – to consider the mechanism of ice formation and its impact on transport constructions, identify the factors that determine the intensity of the ice formation process and determine effective methods of protecting structures.
Forecasting and system analysis of factors affecting the formation of ice on transport facilities were carried out, solutions for their directional regulation have been identified, effective methods for reducing harmful effects on transport facilities have been selected.
