Increasing competitiveness in the educational services market through indicators of demand for graduates is an important task in the development strategy of an educational institution. One of the vectors for solving this problem is the arrangement of disciplines in the curriculum based on compliance with the rules of continuity of disciplines, taking into account such conditions as prerequisites and postrequisites. The purpose of this study is to bring the curriculum to a state of interdisciplinary coherence by making adjustments to the curriculum in the chronological arrangement of disciplines between semesters.
As part of the research, a mathematical model and a formal representation of the curriculum in the form of a directed graph are formed. The algorithm is described and a block diagram is provided to help distinguish states between disciplines.
Having received a structured set of data from the curriculum, an assessment is made of the quality of the curriculum in its current state. For this task, a penalty function is determined, with the help of which, in the future, gaps between time intervals for studying disciplines are minimized and the rule of continuity of disciplines is observed throughout the entire period of study. Using the penalty function, an addition to the algorithm was developed, with the help of which it was possible to determine the current value of the penalty function, as well as reduce the value by 18%.
Based on the results obtained, a plan for further research has been proposed to help achieve the main goal, which is to increase the efficiency of managing the educational process based on a harmonized curriculum.
