Abstract:
We investigate the effect of electromagnetic retardation on the spectrum of plasmons in dissipative two-dimensional (2D) electron system placed in perpendicular constant magnetic field. We find the spectra are strongly depend on relation σ0/c and magnetic field; here σ0 is the static conductivity of 2D system in the absence of magnetic field (σ0 has velocity dimensionality if the Gaussian units), c is the speed of light. We also find that there is the range of the parameters, at which additional branch in plasmon-polariton spectrum appears. This new branch has abnormally low damping rate.
