Abstract:
Тhe article prepared on the basis of careful study of extensive archive material claims that Russian and soviet scientist Oleg Vladimi-rovich Losev (1903−1942) was a pioneer of era of microelectronics. This claim is diametrically opposite to traditional point of view that American physicists Nobel Prize Winners John Bardeen, William Bradford Shockley and Walter Houser Brattain were pioneers of era of microelectronics. In the article its authors describe main discoveries and inventions of O.V. Losev: kristadin, electroluminescence, light emitting diode, semiconducting laser, probe microscopy, p n junction and transistor. This list of Losev-s achievements explicitly shows that the power of O.V. Losev-s talent at least is equal to the power of talent of famous Serbian scientist Nikola Tesla (1856−1943). And if N.Tesla is considered to be the Founder of industrial society, then it is in the right that one ought to call O.V. Losev by the Founder of modern informational society. The near years promise new revolution in the sphere of electronics. A number of key problems in the development of informational technologies is expected to be solved. For instance one of them is the problem of vast increase of data rate. Another one is the problem of decrease of consumption of energy by supercomputers. It is obvious that in the 21st century there are no world powers without their own electronics. That is why at the present moment it is necessary to consolidate home radio engineers and specialists in microelectronics not only in order to solve problem of import replacement of element base for home radioelectronics but in order to organize asymmetric response on the challenge in the sphere of break-through informational technologies using the scheme of modernization without westernization too. For taking these measures it is required a symbol which would inspire Russian scientists and engineers to new outstanding achievements. Beyond any doubt for the solution of these problems figure of O.V. Losev has no alternative. Validity of this choice has been checked by practice yet namely by great success of the 1st Russian-Belorussian Scientific and Technical Conference «Element Base of Home Radioelectronics» devoted to 110th anniversary of O.V. Losev. This Conference has taken place at September, 11−14, 2013, in Nizhny Novgorod, and a lot of research institutes, universities and enterprises of microelectronic industries both Russia and Belorussia were the participants of this one.
