Abstract:
The task of creating scan antenna radiation pattern (RP), in particular a discrete (multi-beam antenna), to the wide angular field is relevant for many applications, in particular for RF monitoring systems. The solution to this problem using phased arrays requires sophisticated schemes of beam (SSB) and the use of amplifiers to compensate for losses in the SSB, which is difficult and expensive in the formation of a large number of rays RP, especially in broadband systems. One of the variants of a multibeam antenna system that allows you to minimize the time wide- angle space while keeping weight and size characteristics within reasonable limits, is the use of quasi- antenna systems with inhomogeneous dielectric. Solution of moving the beam optical system was given Luneberg, lens that offered from inhomogeneous dielectric. Luneberg lens is a dielectric sphere with the refractive index depends only on the radius. Such a lens focuses incident on it parallel beam to a point on the surface. Luneberg lens, implemented in the radio allows you to create multi-beam antenna system. A method of constructing a Luneberg lens of uniform dielectric layers parallel synthesis technique, and such a lens. Dependence of the refractive index of the radius in a similar lens is achieved by varying the thickness of the dielectric layers and in some cases by an additional perforation. In 2011−2013 years was held job «Investigation of possibilities to build broadband multibeam antenna system based on Luneburg lenses». Here are some of the results of this work.
