Inverse population dynamics of solid-state laser active medium under step-diode pumping

Abstract:
The analytical descriptions have been obtained for inverse population dynamics of solid-state laser active medium under step-diode pumping. Four-, three- and quasi-threelevel solid-state lasers have been studied. Both high- and small-power pumping are considered. The inverse population changes after the step-diode-pumping start before the laser generation beginning have been studied. The obtained expressions for inverse population dynamics facilitate the practical estimations and optimization of the laser operation mode of solid-state lasers with different energy levels schemes of laser media.
