The combinational frequencies generation by the complex spectral composition signal amplification in a TWT M-type

Abstract:
The processes in TWT M-type which taking place due to the complex spectral composition signal amplification are researching by the special developed model. At the device output the signal presents as a harmonic components of certain fundamental frequency ω, that make it possible to calculate the output spectrum with any preassigned accuracy.
Here is demonstrated that in case of two monochromatic signals synchronous amplification, the combinational components on the frequencies appear in the output spectrum, while , m and n - are any positive or negative numbers, l and p correspond to the numbers of amplifying signals harmonics.
The excitation of these components brings to the output signal distortion, including increasing of spectrum width. With increasing in the difference between combinational components on the frequencies and reference frequencies of amplifying signals, the output power levels decrease.
The output signal spectrum is considerable exaggerated by the delivering into the input three synchronous signals, because by the nonlinear grouping electronic current appears the possibility of combinational components excitation of amplifying signals and, at the same time, cross-combinations of three or more signals excitation.
It is determined that the output power level on the combinational frequencies in some cases could be measure up to amplifying signals power levels. Signals generation on combinational frequencies leads to the spectrum width of output signal increasing, depending on spectrum width of output signal and on it frequency fillings. In some cases central amplifying signal blanking could be observed. To avoid these effects the generating combinational frequencies signals, close to central frequency, have to be delivered into the device input.
On the one hand, those effects are negative, because they bring to the amplifying signal distortion. On the other hand, those effects could be put into the practice in case of deliberate signal distortion and in other tasks, associated with noise generation issues.
