Abstract:
Singlet-triplet transitions (STT) are investigated in a one-dimensional quantum dot, containing two interacting electrons. The SST occur only as a result of a co-operative action of the spin-orbit interaction and magnetic field. Increasing electron-electron interaction, which can be achieved by nearby gates, results in the significant decrease in the critical magnetic field, under which the STT occurs, and lowering the singlet-triplet splitting.
