Abstract:
An image processing technique based on slight phase distortions of the original image spectrum is presented. A general approach is introduced to design and implement filters of a specific class, called «dispersion filters». Basic features of dispersion filters are investigated and are found to be similar to those of the human eye perception. Some opportunities are discussed concerning the use of dispersion filters in computer vision problems.
