Abstract:

One of the ways to optimize the process of improving the display system of modern aircraft is considered: the formalization and automation of the subjective assessment’s methodology concerning head-up display (HUD) options. Methods of the theory of non-numerical comparisons (in particular, the probabilistic approach of the pairwise comparisons method) are used to create it.

This methodology was tested on the basis of a universal prototyping bench and was highly appreciated by flight experts and ergonomic evaluation specialists. The use of this system will allow for an effective ergonomic assessment of the cockpit information control field, obtaining results of high reliability.
