Abstract:

The cells producing toxic forms of Tau-protein and beta-amyloid were studied to develop an in vitro model of Alzheimer's disease (AD). By using of the immunocytochemical staining we have shown the ability of transfected 3T3-4R-Tau cells to produce Tauprotein characterized by pronounced toxicity that was detected during co-cultivation of 3T3-4R-Tau cells and primary culture of hippocampal cells from newborn rats. In addition, we have developed the cultivation technique for hippocampal cells from transgenic 5XFAD mice and demonstrated the ability of the cell culture to produce beta-amyloid.
