Abstract:
It is proposed to use the term «neurophilosophy» [1] as the name of the direction of philosophical studies, correlated with the results of theoretical and practical research in the field of neuroscience [2]. Thus, two basic understanding of neurophilosophy issues are possible. On the one hand, neurophilosophy is philosophical and methodological reflection on fundamental methodological foundations of neuroscience as one of the scientific areas (similar to the philosophy of mathematics or philosophy of physics). On the other hand, it is the study of traditional philosophical problems, such as mind-body problem, relying on the results of neuroscience studies of neurophysiological bases of psychic phenomena. These two types of neurophilosophy problems closely relate with each other. [3]. Therefore we can denote several fields of neurophilosophy problems: neuroaxsiology, neuroethics, neurophilosophy of mind, methodological foundations of neuroscience and cognitive science, methodological foundations of neural network models of artificial intelligence, social neurophilosophy [4].
