Analysis of fault-tolerant RAM reliability increasing methods regarding RAM as a recoverable homogeneous structure witn limited reserve

Abstract:
The development of fault-tolerant RAM is considered in the paper. This RAM uses duplication and ensures the specified performance and reliability with limited reserve. Main steps of RAM analysis are discussed. The RAM redundancy allows detecting and/or correcting errors caused by faults of memory elements. The ways of qualitative assessment of fault-tolerant RAM characteristics are proposed. Among this characteristics are performance, the probability of uptime, the average uptime and hardware implementation costs. The propose methodology allows to implement RAM meeting not one but a selected limitation system.
