Abstract:
Listening to the acoustic image of the patient-s own EEG in real time aids to the restoration of functional state of CNS, accompanying by decreased anxiety, normalization of frequency, temporal and spatial parameters of bioelectric brain activity. The present work contains the study of monoamnies level in the blood serum of test subjects subject to listening to the acoustic image of the own EEG, presented synchronously with endogenous bioelectric brain activity, and "brain sounds" presented in the premade record to detect the mechanisms of activation of self-regulation processes in bioacoustic correction conditions. We studied 20 practically healthy subjects, 10 men and 10 women aged 20 to 35 years. First group of test subjects, 11 persons, listened to the acoustic image of their own EEG in real time. The second group (control), 9 persons, listened to the record of EEG acoustic image, made in advance on one of the test subjects. EEG registration was monopolar in sites Fp1, Fp2, O1, O2 with closed eyes. All the canals of EEG registration were transformed in the acoustic image simultaneously and independently. The resulting sounds were presented in accordance with EEG registration side. The session duration was 20 minutes. Before the session of listening to EEG acoustic image and right after it the venous blood was sampled from elbow vein. The plasma was separated by centrifugation and stored at -700С before analysis. The level of monoamines in the blood plasma was determined using the reverse phase HPLC with electrochemical detector, the monoamines were previously extracted using aluminum oxide. In the group that listened to the acoustic image of their own EEG the serotonin level increased from 9.9±8.9 to 24.3±10.9 ng/ml, (p<0.01). The increase of serotonin level was accompanied by the increase of theta-activity index in posterior leads. In the control group there were no changes in serotonin concentration and restructuring or EEG rhythmic structure. No significant dynamics of adrenalin, noradrenalin and dopamine levels was detected in either group. Increase of serotonin excretion and lack of changes of catecholamine level in blood plasma shows that the presentation of acoustic stimuli correlated to the patient-s brain bioelectric activity activates mostly parasympathetic centers of nervous system.
