Abstract:
The propagation process and the role of surface plasmon polaritons excitation at the nanocomposites - silver spherical nanoparticles interface are studied by numerical simulation when light passes through the interface under subwave field damping. The suppression of optical transmission at certain wavelengths is observed as a result of surface plasmon polaritons excitation in the surface layer at the interface. The light reflection and refraction at the interface may course partial conversion of light into surface polaritons without frequency change.
