Abstract:
The paper covers the investigation relating to the creation of nanocomposites with two phases characteristics. Binary alloys of Y-Fe system with compositions 25:75 and 35:75 have been studied. A great difference between two phases Curie temperature makes it possible to specify the contribution of each into the total value of the alloy magnetocaloric effect (MCE). Ithas been determined that the value of MCE really depends on the grain size. The grain size reduction up to 80100 nm
in nanocrystalline materials of Y25Fe75 and Y35Fe65 alloys increases the value of MCE by 2025 % in comparison with the values for microcrystalline samples. The nanocrystalline samples MCE value change may results from intergranular exchange interaction.
