Modern information systems operate under strict restrictions, for example, on the allowable decision-making time. Therefore, the increase in the energy of received signals due to one of the most effective methods – their coherent accumulation – is very limited. In addition, coherent signals have low stealth, which narrows the possibilities of their use in interference conditions. Therefore, a two-step procedure is widely used to further increase the energy of signals, namely: first, their coherent accumulation is performed, and at the second stage, incoherent (digital) accumulation. This procedure is based on the assumption of the same results of the first stage obtained during independent tests. However, this assumption often turns out to be incorrect in engineering practice, which requires adjustments to the implementation of such a procedure.
The purpose of the work is to consider the possibilities of using a two-stage digital accumulation procedure with a spread of source data, to determine the specifics of its use and the limitations imposed. The possibilities of using a two-stage digital accumulation procedure with scattered source data are considered, the features of its use and the limitations imposed are determined: With slight variations of the initial data, all criteria give an almost complete coincidence of the curves of accumulated probabilities with the reference curves, i.e. all results remain reliable. With large variations, the digital accumulation procedure provides reliable results with a special selection of criteria and the use of algorithms to check the results for «anomalies», in particular, to identify false threshold points. Optimal criteria for digital accumulation have been found, for example, criterion 3/5. It is the most resistant to variations in the initial data, and the area of expected threshold points is small relative to the neighborhood of the reference threshold point.
The maximum allowable spread of the initial data is ∆_зад ≤ 80%. With large variations, the curve of accumulated probabilities behaves abnormally, even when using the optimal criterion of 3/5 – the curve acquires a mirror character, which makes it impossible to select unreliable initial probabilities before accumulating them. As the number of experiments increases, the relay character of the accumulated probability curves becomes more pronounced. Consequently, the results of digital accumulation become more sensitive to changes in the source data, and algorithms for checking such results for «anomalies» become particularly important.
