Together with the rapid development of synthetic aperture radars (SAR), which improve the detection characteristics of targets against the background of the underlying surface, the problem of observing ground moving targets (GMT) has arisen. In particular, if the target has radial velocity, the GMT markings often appear outside the area of the main beam of the radar image (RI). Consequently, the task arises of selecting the NDC (NDC) and restoring its true position.
The aim of the work is to develop an algorithm for estimation the radial velocity vector and the true location of a ground moving target.
This algorithm was justified by an analytical method, then its mathematical modeling was carried out. In the case of observation of spruce trees by on-board radar with a high radial velocity, the error in its estimation increases, which is due to the spreading of the spectrum of the signal reflected from the GMT to reduce the influence of this effect.
