Abstract:
The need for surveillance of large ground surface areas in danger zones predetermines utilization of groups of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) coupled with applicable sensors. The solution of this problem requires generation of control signals for the entire group of UAVs, which makes it a considerably more complex problem because of increased system order. A more sound approach would be to decompose the multidimensional state vector into several single UAV state vector, which nevertheless allows for other UAVs influence. The article presents the design process of such group guidance on the assumption of including influence of other UAVs in both the state model and the minimizing functional. Simulation of the group guidance confirmed its effectiveness for ground surface coherent surveillance.
