Abstract:
Method of coordinated guidance of arbitrary positioned aircrafts on a moving target with specific time offset is proposed. Every aircraft in the group sets its own velocity to minimize miss distance. Members of the group exchange information about their meeting times, allowing interception with required time offset. Calculation of control signal is based on the method of local optimal control. Formula for control signal allowing interception of target is provided. It is easily calculated and requires minimal data exchange between members of the group. Interceptors must have estimations of their distance from the target, advance speed, relative bearing, line of sight rate and their own speed. Algorithm can be used for planar or spatial interception and for interception of multiple targets. Computer modeling verifies validity of proposed algorithm under realistic limitations on speed and acceleration of aircrafts.
