Informational needs of R&D on the example of radiolocator software development

Abstract:
One of the most significant problems of R&D informational supply is the absence of informational supply substantiation and quality assessment mechanisms. Informational needs analysis, and particularly R&D needs analysis activity is the least formalized at the moment. In the article development is decomposed into such elements as executors, means of labour, subject of labour and information. R&D object model in the UML class diagram notation is suitable for defining needed competences. It is necessary to make a graph path from the node of supplied object («Development») to the node «Competence». There are different variations of constructing the path. The most interesting of them are interpreted and described with their positive and negative characteristics which define practical applicability of each path. There are core development processes, executor categories and needed competences defined while applying this method for radiolocator software development. The proposed method makes it possible to increase software product quality and can be used for informational supply purposes of other R&D activities.
