Abstract:
Computer-aided design (CAD) systems are widespread today. And the environments that support development of embedded microprocessor systems based on single-chip microcontrollers are among them.
Features of a typical development cycle of microcontroller-based embedded systems are discussed. The main problems of development process are shown. Existing tools are not suitable to solve all this problems. There is urgent demand of a special development environment that implements a software-oriented approach to microprocessor systems development. Current results and planned phases of this environment creation are described.
