Moving targets indication of synthetic aperture radar at rotation of the phase centre of the aerial

Abstract:
It-s known, that aperture synthesizing mode is used for radar linear azimuth resolution increasing. At present this problem for forward movement of antenna phase center is studded detailed. But linear resolution can be increased by the rotary movement of antenna phase center. One of the important problems in radar observation is moving targets indication (MTI). In this work moving ground targets indication problems for synthesizing aperture radar (SAR) in the mode of antenna phase center rotation are observed. In the course of investigation phase and frequency of trajectory signal in this radar operation mode were analyzed. The features of the response of optimal system processing were also observed in this work. The suggested algorithm is based on time-lapse deduction of radar displays obtained in different steps of synthesizing. Effectiveness of suggested algorithm of trajectory signal processing is estimated by simulation modeling. Analysis results allow make conclusion about efficiency of concerned algorithm, which provides solving of moving pin-point targets indication problem and gives ability to estimate as radial and as tangential moving target-s speed components. Basic conclusion of this research work can be formulated as follows: The phase of the trajectory signal is changed by the periodic dependence. Parameters of this dependence is defined by radius and angular speed of antenna phase center, but mean value of this fluctuation linearly changes during observation. The Doppler frequency shift of the reflected signal as for stationary and as for moving pin-point target, changes according harmonic law. But the dependence for frequency shift of the moving target displaces rather the same dependence for stationary target on stationary value, which is conditioned by the radial component of target-s speed movement. The usage of the algorithm of time-lapse deduction of radar displays, obtained in different steps of synthesizing, gives ability to solve problem of moving pin-point targets indication.
