Block interleavers comparison using the minimum spread distance criterion
Authors:
D. A. Pyatkov
Abstract:
In this article the criterion for choosing the best block interleaver scheme is presented. Interleaving is supposed to be used along with radio system channel encoder. Nevertheless, interleaving is described as standalone and independent from channel encoder function block. The theory of interleaving, its main characteristics and interleaver schemes are presented. Discovered advantages and disadvantages of typical interleaver schemes. The best interleaver obtaining 400 elements in permutation table has the minimum spread distance equal to 24. This article would be useful for radio electronic designers in interleaving and enclosed fields.
