Problem Statement. This paper examines the problem of semantic geointeroperability, which consists of ensuring coordinated interaction between specialists in solving problems requiring the shared use of georesources, provided that they have a consistent understanding of the semantics of these georesources.
Objective. To achieve semantic geointeroperability, it is necessary to develop tools that will provide a consistent understanding of geodata by comparative analysis of database metaschemas and taking into account multi-factor user interactions.
Results. A refinement of the existing interoperability level scheme is proposed, which implies two modes of interaction organization: informational (data exchange) and informational-functional (delegation of functional tasks to partner information systems).
Practical Significance. The experience of implementing semantic geointeroperability led the authors of this paper to the need to expand the role of semantic geointeroperability by extending it to higher levels of interoperability. A functional diagram of semantic geointeroperability at the ontological level is presented. An analysis of information interaction processes in an integrated spatial data system for rail transport infrastructure is conducted.
