Abstract:

The systematization of the Orkhon-Yenisei runic scripts remains an unresolved task due to the fragmentation of existing classifications, the presence of regional and chronological variations in glyph shapes, and the limited number of preserved monuments. An additional difficulty arises from the scarcity of annotated corpora: the number of rune images is small, classes are highly imbalanced, and the manual annotation of inscriptions requires significant time and expert resources. These factors complicate the development of a universal recognition model and limit the possibilities for cross-alphabet analysis. To create an extended training corpus (both real and synthetic) and to develop a multi-alphabet computer vision model for the automated recognition and comparative analysis of symbols within the Orkhon-Yenisei tradition.
