Abstract:

The influence of harmonic interference on the probability of erroneous reception of radio signals with amplitude shift keying is considered. The purpose of the work is to analyze the errors in receiving signals with phase shift keying under the influence of harmonic interference with random parameters. It is assumed that a useful signal, additive white Gaussian noise, and interference simultaneously arrive at the demodulator input in the receiver. The dependence of the demodulated symbol energy on the relative frequency detuning, the initial phase, and the noise level is established. Expressions are obtained for calculating the error probability of receiving radio signals in the presence of interference. It is shown that the reception error depends significantly on the interference parameters. In this regard, statistical averaging of the error probability over the phase jump of the useful signal, the initial phase, and the noise amplitude was performed. To establish regularities, calculations were made of the average error probability of receiving radio signals with phase shift keying for a number of values of interference parameters, as well as the ratio of the bit energy to the noise power spectral density in the absence of interference for three values of the size of the useful signal symbol alphabet. Graphical dependences of the average error probability on the ratio of the average bit energy of the ensemble to the spectral density of additive white Gaussian noise are presented. The dependences of the increase in the average reception error and energy losses on the level and frequency detuning of harmonic interference are established.

It is shown how many times the average probability of a reception error increases under the influence of interference compared to the probability of an error in the absence of interference. It has been established that with an increase in the frequency detuning of the interference, its influence on the probability of a reception error decreases. The difference between the ratios of the bit energy to the spectral density of noise under the influence and absence of interference for the constant volume of the alphabet and the initial phase of the interference is determined. It is established that this difference does not depend on the ratio of the average bit energy of the ensemble to the spectral density of additive white Gaussian noise in the absence of interference, but is determined by the interference level.
