Abstract:

Reflection of the radar signal along the side lobes of the total radiation pattern is a significant problem when forming images of weather objects and direction finding of air point or group targets in an onboard weather navigation radar. In this article we propose a method for forming an asymmetric total radiation pattern with low side lobes directed towards the earth's surface within a given scale of the viewing area. In addition, special attention is paid to the consideration of direct and inverse direction finding characteristics in a non-standard form of the amplitude-phase distribution over the antenna array.
