In this article an algorithm and a mathematical model for the study of angular and difference-distance methods for the positioning of radio sources are proposed. Algorithms are oriented for positioning radio sources with frequency-hopping spread spectrum and may apply in passive radio monitoring systems
During the operation of these algorithms the following items are performed:
- The spatial cross-correlation function for the difference-distance method is calculated.
- The spatial power distribution for the phase method is calculated.
- The number of maxima in the spatial distribution exceeding a specified threshold value is calculated for both methods.
- The number of maxima obtained determines the degree of spatial separation of radio emission sources. Algorithms are implemented in MATLAB.
