Abstract:
The article is devoted to the design of the two-polarizational fragment for the wide-angle UHF antenna array. The article presents the results of development, mathematical modeling and measurements of antenna element prototype-s and 64-element turnstile antenna array fragment-s characteristics, which allows its universal usage in the different transmission modes and reception of high frequency signals with linear and circular polarization. This antenna array-s design allows scaling at the operating frequency band, and suggests its universal application, including in systems with SMART antennas. The article describes usage of calculated models, results of their calculations and the results of prototype-s characteristics measure-ments. For the full scale calculation of large phased array antenna-s characteristics several models have been created: model of a single antenna element for testing the connection node and balancing; model of antenna element in the «infinite array» for calculation of antenna element-s matching characteristics at different scan modes in several typical cross-sections of the sector review, using the model of the Floquet channel with periodic boundary conditions; model of 64-element antenna array for calculation of the radiation pattern and theirs comparison with the results of the prototype testing section Direct measurement of antenna element-s matching characteristics carried in an anechoic chamber in active-mode for a few specific scan angles, and also the article presents the results of the calculation of VSWR with the matrix on the measured S-parameters. Measurement of characteristics of antenna array carried on the rotary device, and in an anechoic chamber, and confirmed the obtained by mathematical modeling of the matching characteristics at the wide-angle 120º scan and a VSWR less than 2,5 to 3,0 in most of the range of operating frequencies.
