Abstract:
There are description and simulation results for algorithm of noncoherent symbol-by-symbol decoding of differential phase shift keying signals in the paper. The proposed algorithm uses trellis diagram with two states and two branches per state for differential encoder that can be interpreted as a tailed recursive convolutional code. This algorithm is shown to be more effective than known partially coherent decoding algorithm over additive white Gaussian noise channel.
