Abstract:
The antenna element is the most popular device of a phased antenna array. When designing the antenna element, a number of diverse issues, associated with the radiator, phase shifter, control and production technology, is solved. The task of creating a unified broadband antenna element is perspective. This element is applicable for two radars with displaced operating frequency ranges. This article is devoted to the further development of waveguide-rod antenna elements of a phased antenna array with radiators of non-protruding type to expand their operating frequency range, as well as to solve some issues of technology and quality control of antenna elements manufacturing. The article includes a design of an antenna element of non-protruding type with dielectric inserts of glass ceramic that ensures matching with the free space over a frequency band of 15%, results of numerical and experimental research with the application of a simulator of a phased antenna array, the issue of technology and quality control of ferrite-rod manufacturing.
