Abstract:
A review of development-s trend of airborne information and control intelligence systems suggests that its capability enhancement is made possible by updating of airborne radar. While many of today\'s airborne radars are primarily designed with sophisticated RF apertures, among them active electronically scanned arrays. Among others the problem for output power control of active electronically scanned array-s transmitter modules in airborne radars is critical. The article introduces the combine method for output power control. It provides improving performances of active electronically scanned array-s transmitter module. It is made possible by using of power supply system with dynamic supply voltage control.
The P-band-s solid-state transmitter module has been designed and fabricated. It consists of a prime amplifier, high power output amplifier, controller and power supply system. The power supply system provides high dynamic voltage control, low inrush current and useful current ripple. Pulse droop of less than 5% and voltage retuning time of less than 100 µs were obtained.
The solid-state transmitter module has been designed not only suitable for air- and space-based pulsed radar applications, but also for Earth radars with limited power lines.
