The most important results of research and development activities realized by the JSC NIIP Antenna department engineers are studied. The originality of technical solutions and design techniques are stated. Highest estimation is given to activities of the experts of antenna systems scientific school that was found by Professor Boris Sapsovich (Doctor of Engineering). JSC «NIIP» engineers were pioneers in on-board phased antenna array application as a part of an interceptor weapons control systems. It is the author-s earnest conviction that the modern fighter aviation equipment must comprise radar systems with electron beam-forming. Research near-term perspective lies in the sphere of X- and L-band AESA engineering.
