Abstract:
A Navy SAM carries out a number of tasks. One of them is the acquisition of radar objects. Another task is a correction of SAM flight. Along with them (tasks) there is a task of catching and tracking SAM. The latest one uses both coordinates that an onboard radio answer device of SAM sends to a radar-receiver and as well as results formed by processing SAM echo in the radar-receiver. One of the important tasks solved by the radar system is a task of angular sweep. The task is highly contradictive because it is needed to get a rather strict data of flying object position in the space within a wide range of angular ambiguity. Methods used in the existing Navy radars have a number of shortages. They are basically connected with some time outlay to solve angular sweep tasks. One of the reasons for the time outlay is an inaccuracy in data on a flying object position coming in from it. Therefore a preliminary radar scan is needed, it-s so-called before-scan. The article offers a way to solve an angular sweep task based on applying a so-called super discrimination method while processing a signal from the onboard radio answer device. A locator offered in the article has a phased array with a capability of peculiar control of a directivity pattern for each antenna module. The method follows. At the first stage the locator that is a radar sends a signal to SAM using an antenna having a wide directivity pattern. Then the radar switches to receiving an echo and beams of antenna modules are concentrated within a wide angular range. Hereafter the echo is processed in a receiver device and a relief bearing is determined. Target angular coordinates are determined by finding the maxima is the relief bearing. At the end of the first stage the system has yet contained the sufficient strict data on an angular position of an tracking object. The offered method allows to cut off time outlay on solving the angular sweep task at the stage of gripping SAM and increases the efficiency of Navy radar.
