Abstract:
The article describes the features of the imaging of the sea surface in a holographic radar. This radar have a wide observer area and long observed time. As a result, the observed velocity distributions differ from true. Especially the larger the distortion at the edges of the field of view. When viewed in sea holographic radar so-called «group effect» leads, in some cases, to the amplitude modulation of the radar picture, so that it observed the structure of waves. Modulation depth in the wave image is determined by the «groups factor» whose values increase when corners removal of the field of view is vertical and when viewed in the running direction of the wave.
