Abstract:
Navigation of geostationary Earth orbit (GEO) satellite with the GNSS measurements is considered in framework of the estimation theory. Suboptimal algorithm of GEO satellite navigation suitable for on-board implementation is suggested. The algorithm is based on the non-linear differential equations of GEO orbital motion and utilizes Kalman filtering of linearized motion dynamics and GNSS measurements - pseuodoranges and pseudovelocities. The estimates of the GEO satellite position and velocity obtained in the Kalman filter are used in satellite orbit integration. The suggested method provides unambiguous determination of the GEO satellite position and velocity. The obtained theoretical results will be tested experimentally, the results will be presented in a subsequent paper.
