Flat phased arrays rays control algorithms modification in monopulse meters

Abstract:
The flat phased arrays rays control algorithms modification are considered in order to eliminate the effect of twisting the angular coordinates during independent row-column rays control in monopulse meters. It is known that the independent row and column oscillator control algorithms of phasing rays of the flat phased arrays determine the position of the beam in the biconical coordinates system. Classic implementation of such algorithms requires conversion to a spherical system to measure the azimuth and elevation angle. But the main disadvantage is manifested in the management of the group rays, when it is required to implement monopulse processing procedure. Independent row and column phasing control leads to a twisting of coordinates at the wide-angle scanning. Twisting coordinates leads to an equisignal plane directions rotation on translation to the spherical coordinate system. It does not allow to realize the direct angle coordinates measuring on direction-finding characteristics, as well as carry out the required search program in the edge volumes of barrier zones, where it is required to scan on the angle of elevation. Well known relationship between the guide cosines in biconical coordinates system and «azimuth - elevation» coordinates in spherical system is used for the modificating of the row-column control algorithms of phasing the elements of phased arrays. The obtained rows and columns phasing control algorithms are differ from the classical ones by mutual coupling through the spherical coordinates of the spatial position of the rays. As a result the rays extension at the wide-angle scanning is not accompanied by a change of coordinates their maximum and the equisignal planes of the difference directional diagrams do not have the errors of bias zeros. The structure of phasing algorithms is considered for the following review: line review of the azimuth with abrupt movement of the rays on the angle of elevation, bitmap review on the angle of elevation with abrupt movement of the rays of the azimuth and rays rephasing in the specified direction with interruptions of the program review.
