Optimization of algorithms for primary processing of signals with the transformation of the continuous movement of the beam in the intermittent single review in the monopulse radar

Abstract:
The flat phased arrays rays control algorithms modification are considered in order to eliminate the effect of twisting the Algorithms of signal detection and angular position estimation are proposed for monopulse radar systems with mechanical antenna scanning. To compensate the monopulse estimate trend , it is proposed to analyse the radar images obtained for every antenna scan and range resolution cell. To perform the compensation, the radar angular observation sector is divided into adjacent frames, which dimensions are approximately equal to the antenna beam width. For every frame an antenna stearing direction is determined and stored in the DSP memory. An instant monopulse estimate is centered relative to the stearing direction. Besides, a compensation of the stearing direction shift is performed because the value of this shift is known. It is shown that the estimation of the target angular position varying during the observation time is achieved through the smoothing of instant estimates. This smoothing can be realized by different methods depending on a type of smoothing filter. A structure of  ? Δ monopulse radar with mechanical antenna scanning is developed that realizes the frame- to-frame observation. Detection and smoothing of measurements are performed in common in the radar and taking of the smoothed estimate is permitted only if the detection threshold is exceeded.
