Sea waves parameters estimation using data of ultra wide band radar complex

Abstract:
The paper contains a description of the methodology of the mathematical model and algorithm execution space-spectral analysis of radar images to determine the parameters of sea surface wave data obtained radar complex. As the base used two-dimensional model of wind waves, dexcribed by the trochoidal theory of waves. In the framework of this theory have been obtained relations allow to calculate the individual parameters of the sea waves. The initial data for measuring the wavelength is the primary radar image of the sea surface in polar coordinates. Predominant harmonic is determined after radar image conversion, corresponding to the most probable value of the wavelength. Next, using the known dependences of the parameters are defined: wave length, height, steepness, the phase velocity, the predominant direction of propagation, etc. A feature of this waves. The method has been tested in real conditions and can be recommended for use in automated systems for monitoring the sea surface
