On results of route tests of high-speed short-wave radio modem designed by PJSK ONIIP

Abstract:
The article describes route tests of HF wireless modem which provides data transfer rate up to 25600 bits/s in the band of two standard telephone lines, on the route Omsk - Moscow. Descriptions of experimental conditions, list of the equipment used and the results obtained are given in the article. The possibility of increasing the data-transfer rate by HF wireless modem by means of increasing the frequency band is demonstrated. The possibility of high-speed HF wireless modem performance with an inexpensive semiprofessional receiving equipment is demonstrated. The practice of application of linear frequency modulation for the optimal choice of operating frequencies and statistical data on the noise conditions obtained during the experiments is described.
