Abstract:
Intermittent distribution of UHF radio waves as applied to the OTH is based on the presumptively-known group path along the intermittent trajectory and calculated length of the leapover the earth's surface. There is currently no dominant model of Ne(h)-profile, which is used for the calculated transition from the group pathto the length of the leap, which leads to large errors in one of the key variables, defined in horizon detectionproblem solving, namely coordinatometery. The issue of preference of the most common current Ne(h)-profiles model of the ionosphere for solving horizon detection is considered. The results of estimation of the distance of leap on the earth's surface and intermittent trajectory of radio wave propa-gation in inhomogeneous isotropic ionosphere are given. The calculation is done using the refraction integrals, based on the law of Snellius, allowing us to use real Ne(h)-profiles in calculations. As a result, a number of error values that are made using different models of approximation of the experimental Ne(h)-profiles, were obtained.
