Abstract:
Development of fiber optics as a whole and fibers for high-power lasing applications in particular is considered. Achievements in the field of creation of telecommunication optical fibers and active light guides and technologies of their manufacturing are shortly described. Theoretical and experimental study of novel tapered fiber for application in high-power fiber lasers and amplifiers is held. The efficiency of using tapered fibers as an active element of the powerful laser is proved
