Modern Foreign Tactical Radios. Current State and Development Perspectives. Yu. A. Katulevskiy In the review the basic requirements to the modern combat digital software defined radios (SDR) are presented and the main directions of their construction are shown. The general physical and mathematical principles of the high speed digital information transmission, Anti-Jamming for the transmission security (TRANSEC) and the high speed digital encryption for the communication security (COMSEC) realized in modern radios are given. The effective signal modulation modes (wave forms), kinds of modems and the methods for the data error correction allowing to achieve the maximum speed of data transmissions for HF, VHF, UHF channels are described. As an example for the realized advanced technical solutions the technical specifications for the most advanced two manpack and two handheld radios for HF, VHF, UHF bands fabricated by the leading foreign companies are presented.
