All-Russian Scientific Research Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (VILAR) holds studies of dry extracts of horse chestnut and arnica foliosa (Arnica foliosa Nutt., Asteraceae) to extend the range of domestic drugs with venous effect. We have developed a soft medical form on their base - gel for the treatment of diseases of the lower limbs. In this work methods of quantitative determination of chlorogenic acid and escin in gel containing dry extracts of arnica foliosa and horse chestnut are developed. Gel samples were studied using chromatodensitometry and UV spectrophotometry methods.
