Abstract:
The Dead Sea mud is a unique source with the richest fount of biologically active compounds. In addition to rich mineral content, the Dead sea mud have an original organic component. Fabrication of pharmaceutical products, which preserve all the properties of natural mud, makes it possible to increases the application of peloid therapy for balneological and home use. From the Dead sea mud we obtained a peloid fraction and an oil balm. For the peloid faction it was determined UV and IR spectral characteristics. UV spectral data can be used for Dead sea mud drugs standardization. It was established that the antibacterial action is typical for the Dead sea mud and scraps. According to the obtained data and investigation results we can conclude that the antibacterial effect is due to mineral composition. Scraps antibacterial activity is similar to the bactericidal effect of the mud. It can be recommended as mud applications. It was ascertained the healing activity of the balsam obtained from the Dead sea mud on the animal-s linear wounds model. The wounds healing time with the experimental balm is decreased by 25 % compared to the control group result, and it is comparable with the effect of the reference preparation (Tambukan mud oil extract).
