Abstract:
Here we report on the comparative analysis of qualitative and quantitative characteristics of antimicrobial activity displayed by the oil extracts and volatile compounds from 10 plant species of myrtle family which we have tested against a panel of 8 pathogenic and potentially pathogenic microbial species. Thereby, such plants may potentially serve as an attractive source of raw material for the isolation of antimicrobial agents and can be used in phyto modules in phytoncide therapy applications.
