Comprehensive assesment of functional state and trace element status of male organism of Magadan town

Abstract:
Comprehensive assessment of morphofunctional state of male subjects aged 23-35, residents of Magadan town (n=20) was carried. Main somatic-metric indices, fat content, Pinje index, body build index, proportionality index of body composition, body weight to body area ratio, indices of systolic and diastolic blood pressure, heart rate were measured. By calculation pulse pressure, total peripheric blood resistance, stroke volume according to Starr, minute blood volume, vegetation index of Kerdo were defined. To evaluate a number of parameters of external respiratory system and gas exchange in male subjects, power inputs of organism at rest, respiratory rate, respiratory volume, respiratory minute volume, oxygen and carbon dioxide content in expired air, oxygen consumption, oxygen-utilization coefficient and lung capacity were measured. Functional capacities of cardiohemodynamics was measured by registration of heart rate variability indices according to the method of R.M.Bayevsky using "Varikard" appliance and software VARICARD-KARDI. ECG was registered when seated, in one of standard leads. Content of macro- and trace elements (TE) (Al, As, B, Be, Ca, Cd, Co, Cr, Cu, Fe, Hg, I, K, Li, Mg, Mn, Na, Ni, P, Pb, Se, Si, Sn, V, Zn) in hair samples was defined by methods of atom-emission spectrometry with inductively bonded argon plasma (AES-IBP) using Optima 2000 DV appliance (Perkin Elmer, USA) and mass-spectrometry with inductively bonded argon plasma (MS-IBP) using ELAN-9000 appliance (Perkin Elmer, USA) in "Centre of biotic medicine" (Moscow). At the same time clinical blood analysis was made on the base of Magadan polyclinic №4. Received data were treated statically by using application «Statistica 7.0». Correlative and factor analyses were carried. As it is turned out from studies, in examined subjects development of disharmonic somatotype was defined. This somatotype was not adapted to life in given climatic-geographic conditions with high values of body apparent surface and relative length of legs and prevented formation of optimal thermoregulation mechanisms in cold. It could be a cause of tension in cardio-respiratory system and oxygen supply function, which reflects in high values of blood pressure, total peripheric blood resistance, decrease of oxygen consumption and oxygen capacity of lung. Revealed misbalance of trace element status is characterized by deficiency of Со, Са, Mg, К, I and efficiency of Si and Zn. Moreover, factor analysis showed that trace element status, somatotype and metabolic supply of organism influence a lot on formation of morphofunctional status of residents in Magadan town. It was defined by everyday comparative analysis of morphofunctional characteristics in dependence of elements norm/deviations, having high load values in the first unit of factor matrix that Cu, K, Ca influence on trace element status of male subjects in Magadan town. This fact should be taken into account when correcting measures, aimed optimization of trace elements status of Magadan town residents.
